Hello, I have been having a problem lately where my computer would simply disconnect everything and not let anything reconnect. The monitor is still running and my games are still running, but I can't speak through my mic, type anything, or click anything. Since I don't have a BSOD, do I have to follow the posting instructions? Thanks.

Sincerely

TheXeon

hello I am so sorry for the delay, literally took me the last hour or so to get these results. I went into Event viewer and saw this error: "The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> was unavailable to handle a notification event." and "The Cryptographic Services service failed to initialize the VSS backup "System Writer" object.

Details:
Could not query the status of the EventSystem service.

System Error:
A system shutdown is in progress.
."

I will try to run sfcscan and Checkdsk but until then, here are your files: View attachment #2 + Perfmon.zip

Hello there what I meant was that my computer would freeze repeatedly while trying to run the scans. The freezes have basically stopped since I ran chkdsk (thank goodness for that), but its only been a few hours. I am having a problem now where my mouse would keep disconnecting. Very annoying. Any help there?

Hi there,
Looks like I spoke too soon, my computer just froze over a few times again. I was not able to properly run the Seagate Seatool as it gave me buches of errors. I also tried the legacy version with similar results. Thus, I am using a tool you mentioned in the HDD post called HD Tune. I am currently running the error scan, hope that is OK.

Sincerely,

TheXeon

I can't be 100% sure that is the problem as there are many other factors that can cause hangs, but your error logs do show Kaspersky having some issues on the system. Removing it is a troubleshooting step to see if it may be causing the problems you describe. I'm glad initial tests are proving promising; let us know how things go once you've had a chance to do your normal routine for a bit.

You are correct writhziden, I just crashed a minute ago. At least I extended the life time a little bit. Looks like the stress test lasted about 3 hours then after about 2 hours I crashed. Good results. What to do next?

It would seem that your Windows Search Indexing service is not working properly. Try resetting it.
  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Click Search programs and files
  3. Type Indexing Options and then hit Enter
  4. Click Advanced
  5. Click Rebuild
  6. Click OK

I also see messages that lead me to believe there is corruption occurring on your system. Windows update errors abound in your error reports. Windows search enhancement pack errors show up a lot, as do problems with your Windows Live software. I would recommend uninstalling them, downloading fresh installation packages for them, and then re-installing with the fresh installers.

Additionally, I see remnants of McAfee trying to be uninstalled by the .NET Optimization Service. Did you have McAfee on the system at one time? Did you remove it properly using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal (MCPR) tool?

Thank you for all the help so far everyone. I have never had mcafee but maybe i had the toolbar installed at one time with some other software. Do i just need to reinstall windows live and reset my indexing?

It doesn't look like you've had any abnormal shutdowns since the last set, or did I miss something?

Did you reset Indexing?

What about removing the programs mentioned in my previous post and then re-installing Windows Live Essentials?

Below are the errors seen for reference. Most were from your previous logs; only the top error occurred in the most recent logs and indicates Indexing may need to be reset still:

The main reason that i havent had any abnormal shutdowns is that i forbid my kids to go on it. I will let them play for a while now. I did do a reset of the indexing, so i think that may have corrupted. I also did do all the reinstalls and run the mcafee tool. sincerely,

TheXeon

Hello there everyone,

My computer has again crashed after a total run of 5 hours 23 minutes. That is a record and the computer crashed while I had Steam, Skype, and Microsoft Security Essentials running, with MSE updating.

Regards,
Thexeon

First, let's see if a clean boot will fix the problem. That would indicate a 3rd party service or startup program causing issues with Windows services.

If the above does not work, we should check temperatures and voltages on the system.

Please provide your temperatures during idle (when not running any programs and just sitting on the desktop).

Please provide your temperatures during stress (running a game, using hardware diagnostic software, rendering a video, running a full virus scan, etc.).

Use HWMonitor to provide the voltages and temperatures seen during idle and under stress. Please capture an image of HWMonitor using the snipping tool rather than saving a text file.

The following programs can also be used to monitor temperatures in case you suspect HWMonitor is giving inaccurate readings.

Hello there. I am currently using my desktop to do a very long project, so I think it is only possible to monitor the voltages at this time. That being said, I will get the clean boot results as soon as possible. Sorry about that. Here are my snapshots when running a scan and when idle:

Idle:Idle.PNG

Stress(full system scan with security essentials): Stress.PNG

Again very sorry, I will get to you very soon again.

Regards
