BSOD Driver Power State Failure keeps occuring on my ASUS VivoTab.

Hi,

I've had an ASUS VivoTab for a couple of months running Windows 8. Everything was fine but after downloading Google Chrome there are always constant phantom touch clicks. They always occur in the same spot, open random windows and make it impossible to type documents. Following ASUS's advice I reset the drivers in a full system reset. The problem still occurred. More recently I've been getting fairly frequent BSOD from a Driver Power State Failure. I have an expired trial version of Office 2013 but I doubt that's what's causing it. The report files are attached.

Cheers,
Phil.

Only 62 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 66 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

You have a Broadcom 802.11bgn Wireless SDIO Adapter:
I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win7/Win8 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7(and I suspect with Win8) - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7/Win8 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

SSD's were temperamental when they first came out, but their reliability has improved greatly over the last year or two. There are 2 things that MUST be checked on systems with BSOD's and SSD's:
1) That the SSD firmware is the latest available for the SSD
2) That the storage controller drivers on the motherboard are the most recent. They must date from late 2012 or later. This is all controllers, not just the one that the SSD is attached to.

Memory dumps in the WER section of MSINFO32 blame isstrtc.sys and inteli2c.sys
isstrtc.sys is a driver related to your Intel SST Audio Driver (WDM)
inteli2c.sys is a driver related to your Intel Atom Processor Z2760 I2C Controller

As the memory dumps also blame this, I'd suggest:
- downloading a fresh copy of the latest, Win8 compatible drivers for these devices
- uninstalling the current drivers
- installing the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's
