For Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8 / 8.1, Windows 7, and Windows Vista systems only!
The BSOD App will run on both x64 (64-bit) and x86 (32-bit) systems.
DO NOT run this app on Windows XP systems. The app will not damage an XP system; rather most CMD (shell) commands will just fail.
Version Information
Please ensure that you download SysnativeFileCollectionApp version 5.0.3 if you are using Windows 10 or Windows 11.
Please note that this is not digitally signed yet and therefore your security software may report it as being malicious or unsafe to run.
If you are using Windows 7 or Windows 8.x, then please use version 4.6.1.
The later version will not work with your operating system; please note that both versions are completely safe to use and do not contain any malicious code.
- If your PC (aka machine) is unable to create minidumps or full kernel dumps, read: MS Docs: Configure system failure and recovery options in Windows
- Download the BSOD Collection Application (click) and save it to Desktop folder.
For more information, read here:Read More:The desktop folder is in "C:\Users\Your-Windows-Profile-Name\Desktop" or "%userprofile%\Desktop".
Please read this post for an explanation of the files which the collection app gathers: Sysnative BSOD Dump + File Collection App [Detailed] Output Explained
The Sysnative BSOD Dump + System File Collection App does not get installed (it is a stand-alone EXE) nor does it make any changes to the registry. It only creates the SysnativeFileCollectionApp output folder + a zipped version, one of which is located in the %localappdata% directory and the latter being the Desktop folder. The former will be automatically deleted once the app has successfully finished.
You can delete them at any time, but we suggest that you wait until our work together is completed before doing so.
If you have any questions or run into any problems with the app, please post IN YOUR THREAD about such issues/with the questions. We, of course, are happy to answer any questions that you have or to address any concerns.
This app (including former versions of it) has been downloaded and executed in excess of one million times since the original version was conceived and released in early 2008 and is completely safe.
The app is now digitally signed by Sysnative Forums Software, Ltd. This is only applicable to version 4.6.1 at the moment.
This app has many other troubleshooting capabilities than just to solve BSODs, so you may see a staff member requesting an OP to run it even though the OP is not experiencing any BSODs.
- Run the app
Double-click on the downloaded EXE file. Please be patient until it finishes.
For more information, read here:Read More:Output of the app:
- New folder created in %localappdata% which will be automatically deleted after being zipped: SysnativeFileCollectionApp
- A zipped version: SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip.
Please note that the app averages just a few minutes to run on most systems. In other systems, it may take as long as 10-15 minutes to run.
You'll notice on your Taskbar that there are numerous CMD screens. This is normal as the app runs Windows EXE files, custom batch script files as well as custom VBS script files and each one requires its own CMD prompt (screen). This now only applies to version 4.6.1. The current version (5.0.3) has now been written using .NET 8, it largely follows the same process which the former version did, however, it will now timeout individual tasks if they take too long to complete.
Windows Explorer should open and highlight the zipped folder upon completion of the app.
Furthermore, on occasion, the CMD screen will read "waiting for system info" for over 15 minutes. This is due to excess msinfo32/ WERCON entries. If this occurs, simply bring up Task Manager or SysInternals Process Explorer and "kill" the Sysnative app. This issue should not occur on Windows 10 and 11, although, it is common to see one of the reports unable to complete with version 5.0.3. This is because each report has 2 minutes to complete, otherwise the app will simply cancel the report in order to prevent the app from taking an excessive amount of time to finish.
- Create a new thread HERE (click) if you do not have one yet and attach the Sysnative zip file.
If you have multiple machines, please create a separate thread for each machine you may have.
Please ensure that you include the details of the system in the initial post of each thread.
Please DO NOT modify any of the output files.
Please Note: post attachment file size limit = 30 MB.
For more information, read here:Read More:If your .zip file exceeds 30 MB in size, then please upload the SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip file to a reputable file sharing site such as OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox. Alternatively, you can use a file sharing service such as WeTransfer which will automatically delete the file for you after a certain time period. Please ensure that you make the file accessible to the public and post the URL of the file in your post.
Then zip up (using .zip, not .rar, please) the entire folder, upload and attach it to your next post in your thread.
