DPC latency issue (crackling audio) dxgkrnl.sys - Windows 7 x86 SP1

Thanks.

Do you think you could share a photo (or write down) BIOS settings under the following:

  • Advanced BIOS features
  • Advanced BIOS Features -> CPU feature
  • Power Management
  • PnP/PCI Configurations

In addition, could you please run MSINFO32 and click File->Save? It seems that the export which was included as part of Windows7_Vista_jcgriff2 report is corrupted.

here ya go

By the way id just like to thank you Tomas for helping me through this and not giving up on it lol and for the quick responses i really appreciate it.

What about Advanced BIOS features and Power Management screens? Also, I still cannot open the MSINFO32 export ("System Information is unable to open this .nfo file. The file might be corrupt or incompatible with this version of System Information"). Do you think you could use File->Export to save it as TXT instead?

No problem. I just hope we get to the root cause of this.

thats the bios main menu, power management options and advanced bios features

Thanks, Dustin.

Could you please change Limit CPUID MaxVal to Disabled?
done no difference yet

Latency issues still persist? Even so, please leave this setting as "Disabled", since it's the default setting and you shouldn't need to have it enabled as you are using "Windows 7".

Could you please get me one more XPERF log? I will look into it later today. For this log, please do the following:

  1. Run Windows Performance Recorder (you already have it installed)
  2. Select the following:
    • First level triage
    • CPU usage
    • Power usage
    • GPU activity
    • Desktop composition activity
    • Audio glitches
    • Video glitches
    • Minifilter I/O activity
  3. Make sure Detail level is set to Verbose
  4. Click Start
  5. Play some audio to reproduce the issues
  6. Click Save
Thanks!

a few things that might add some insight is that both times the crackling/high dpc latency went away it happened while the computer was up and running it wasnt like i turned it on and right off the bat it was gone, and the second time it happened i wasnt gonna shutdown or restart my computer so it would keep working properly but when i went to sleep i woke up and the computer had retsarted on its own which never happens. The other thing is it seemed like last time it slowly was getting better and better until it was completely gone and when i ran latency mon the opening screen in red text said if i recall correctly something about my wlan which i dont have wireless on this comp unless it just said lan adapter as i said im not 100% sure.

also the first time i know for sure when i opened task manager and processes tab it showed a rundll.exe or dllhost.exe running in the main screen without having to click on show all processes where it normally will show up

Hello Lasty,

It's been a week we haven't heard anything from you. Were you able to test the last suggested change to see if it resolves the issue?

I'm having a latency issue and found this thread from a Google search and am disappointed to find no resolution to Lasty's problem was found yet.
The diagnostic steps found in this thread are insightful and interesting.

I hope he comes back as I'm really curious what the answer is now.

Hi,

Latency issues can be caused by many different things and it doesn't necessary mean the problem (and a solution) for you is the same as Lasty had.

I would suggest you opening a new thread with a trace attached so we could look into your issue.
