Error 0x80070057 failed to copy file

That's the one! I was agonising over trying to recall it, since the name is a tad generic. Glad to see they're still making software..!

Persistent W10 audio buzz? Latency Tester details inside!

Sorry if this is kind of kludged together; I'm sure there's a better way of grabbing this then prt-screening and piecing them together, but I surely don't know it. ;)

Not a huge update, but this sure got my interest. To quote it for the forum: Only, Microsoft detects the AMD-branded drivers, attempts to re-update them unless blocked from doing so, and AMD still suggests you use their branded drivers everywhere else but this hidden-away page. I know my...

Error 0x80070057 failed to copy file

@RobTheSwede I feel you. For what it's worth, just random chance; there are drives we've got that are chugging along fine for decades, drives that just fail. I refuse to use SSDs, for example, because every single one I've had or come into contact with has failed and been entirely unrecoverable...

Persistent W10 audio buzz? Latency Tester details inside!

Awesome, so far nothing forced; it's just testing in the background, then..? I've waited on changing the PSU because I wanted to try to isolate if it was a storage/driver/windows issue first. No luck with that, unfortunately. 😄 However! I can give it a try. Let me summarise what I've done...

Prevent Windows 10 Sidebar from Auto-Expanding to Folder?

Don't worry, I'll feel better and get back into it. 🙂 I felt super defeated earlier, because it felt like things had been getting better, now it feels like I've been wasting my time; but I've appreciated all the help, more then just 'thanks' can say. Thank both of you, for your help AND your...

[SOLVED] Random BSOD. FIX: I set the RAM to run at stock settings and I uninstalled malwarebytes.

@piorun321 I doubt I'm going to be able to help you too much, however, I'm having similar issues - I can't say anything good about Win10/11, so I'll choose to say nothing at all - one thing I notice is that it seems like your network driver is the cause for your high latency spikes. Some of...

Persistent W10 audio buzz? Latency Tester details inside!

Hullo! Thanks for stopping by! Sorry if this is messy, but here you go - I have Malwarebytes installed (I feel like this was a mistake) and am running a scan. Basically, I'm at the 'throw everything at the wall and see what sticks' phase, ahaha. I'm assuming the real meat is me running...

See title! [Sorry for the newbie question; how to run Driver Verifier for 24-hours?] I've decided I'm not getting anywhere with my current approach, and want to try having Driver Verifier do the work for me. Booted into it fine, no crash, no lockout, /querysettings returns what it should - so...

Persistent W10 audio buzz? Latency Tester details inside!

After feeling incredibly depressed and defeated, I decided to give this another go. Checked to see if there was a new BIOS update (there was; flashed), turned off prefetch and superfetch, restarted. At first, only dxkrnl.sys seemed to be a problem, but then we had storport 2 revenge of the...

Gonna try following the steps here. I noticed that Nvidia wasn't set to automatically use GPU, so that might be something.

Persistent W10 audio buzz? Latency Tester details inside!

So, update; this appears to have fixed my sound issue, but unfortunately, LatencyMon reported bighuge numbers again. I'd been going through a list of potential offenders to try to push it - but seeing those 18K latencies again was just incredibly disheartening. I don't feel comfortable randomly...

Prevent Windows 10 Sidebar from Auto-Expanding to Folder?

Windows 10; I use old icons because I prefer them. I kind of hate everything to do with post-7 windows, aha... It's not a matter of 'just trying it,' either. The amount of problems I've had to deal with on Win10 boxes, let alone Win11 machines... People tend to romanticise XP, but I still...

[SOLVED] Random BSOD. FIX: I set the RAM to run at stock settings and I uninstalled malwarebytes.

@piorun321 Do you mind running LatencyMon for about two hours, and telling me what you get? I think I might have solved a similar issue, and I'm curious to see what yours looks like, right now. Also do what ubuysa suggests, I just want to start thinking about this in case I can help.

Prevent Windows 10 Sidebar from Auto-Expanding to Folder?

Always good policy, my friend. Don't sweat it; we're all just on our own time here, the last thing I'd want it is to rush anyone trying to help! My major worry here is that I updated my own post on my other issue several times over, just because I like leaving info in case people have similar...
