I'm a 62 yr. old, divorced-twice male, with a variety of experiences in life, personally and professionally.
My occupations;
**1.** 2009-2012 Cust. Svc. Rep, Chase credit cards.
**2.** 2000-2009 Owner/Operator, that means I owned 1 (one) truck and was solely responsible for operating it. I barely made wages doing it, took 6 years to learn how to make a profit, 3 years later the economy tanked, had to close the business, file bankruptcy, find a job.
**3**. 1995-1998 Systems Tech, PC End-User Supp.,Network Admin, Email Admin at Clark County Government Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of the best gigs I ever had! Got paid to do something I love, paid to attend certified training programs on networking technologies that got me raises!! What a country!
**4**. 1990-1994 Asst. Tech. Dir., for Encore Productions, Inc. (Encore Event Technologies) a Las Vegas Production Co. Here, I was tasked with the most demanding responsibilities I ever had. Sometimes I wonder that the stress alone didn't kill me.
**5**. 1974-1995, Stage Electrician in the Las Vegas Stagehands Union, Local 720. I'd have to write a book to tell it all, or even partly, but poorly. It was an exciting, boring, fun, not fun, crazy way to make a living. I was 20 when I began. It was '74 and the best time to be alive and living in Las Vegas. While working backstage, I also worked with my Dad in the construction/remodeling business for residential homes, custom built homes, and small commercial buildings.
I was born in Orlando, Florida, the 1st born of 2 average parents, both from Louisville, KY. We moved a lot, but were not military. In 12 years of public school, I went to 16 schools, in 6 cities, in 5 states; Kentucky, Arizona, Nevada, California and Washington, and still learned what was taught, and a lot they didn't. I barely (my fault, I didn't apply myself as I am capable of) graduated, on schedule with my Class of 1971, with my diploma.
I've an insatiable thirst for knowledge and I'm still learning. My love of electronics, radios, TV, telephony, cool tools and technology came from being exposed to it very young by my Dad.
He taught a few other things that helped, too:
There's nothing been done by a man, you cannot do.
There's only 1 stupid question.....the one you DIDN'T ask.
Show me a man who says "I can't", and I'll show you a man who's right, 100% of the time.
If it's still lost you have NOT looked "everywhere," yet.
Grandma Reed:
Best thing about beating your head against a wall is......It feels so good when you stop!
Waylon Jennings:
"Just remember this, hoss, wherever you go....there you are."
I've always had a curiosity about how things work, and why. The easiest, but not the best, is simply take something apart and see what's inside. The problem is when the person it belongs to expects it to work when you get it together. Now I ask you, isn't that unreasonable or what?
I've been blessed to live a very interesting life, which still surprises and challenges me today. Well, ain't nothing getting fixed liked this, but it's been fun putting down these thoughts. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
Adios!
