I am a retired network / enterprise architect as of 2007. I am working with an RYO AMD Phenom II X4 965 system, running Windows 10 Home v1809 build 17763.316, installed 12/21/2018. In early February, I suffered a disk incident that damaged C: (OS on a 240GB SSD) and J: (a 2TB SSHD where I store many virtualbox instances). I have recovered both drives with chkdsk /f (didn't know about /b or /r until later). Am now unable to successfully run sfc / scannow or dism /restore-health despite a number of fix attempts.
