Debugging My PC Which Hangs on a Black Display Prior to the Login Screen

This is the bit that concerns me the most - there aren't that many reasons for two different installs to break at the same time, spread across multiple disks. Especially as these are different versions of Windows. I don't know for sure, but I'd be surprised if Windows could corrupt across...

Debugging My PC Which Hangs on a Black Display Prior to the Login Screen

Okay, interesting - so just to clarify - is this correct? SSD1: Windows 10 - does not boot. (Does this hang in the same place, during startup before the login screen?). Not able to access Safe Mode. SSD2 Partition 1: Windows 11 - does not boot - hangs before login screen. Not able to access...

Debugging My PC Which Hangs on a Black Display Prior to the Login Screen

I'd try some other steps before flashing the BIOS - but have you also tried clearing the CMOS on the motherboard? I believe on the ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-E there should be a Clear CMOS button on the back. (Turn off your PC first before doing this). Page 66 in the manual...

Debugging My PC Which Hangs on a Black Display Prior to the Login Screen

The memory is supported - and if this is a new issue, memory support is unlikely to be related. It could be that a memory stick is failing, but as you've tested each individually, it's less likely to be a faulty RAM stick. @Seymour Skinner - has this issue always happened on this motherboard +...

[SOLVED] Why is Google Chrome full screen / maximize window hiding Windows 11 Taskbar?

Looks like it's fully resolved for now at least. I haven't had the issue again since updating Nvidia drivers - if anyone has the same issue, I'd recommend updating drivers (especially display drivers), and any other updates available. Will mark this thread as solved.

[SOLVED] Why is Google Chrome full screen / maximize window hiding Windows 11 Taskbar?

Ty for this - I've updated to the latest Nvidia driver and haven't had the issue the last few days, so maybe it is Nvidia related after all. The issue has always been a bit intermittent though, so I'll see if it reappears. Will report it as a Chromium bug, although it's a bit niche so can't...

[SOLVED] Why is Google Chrome full screen / maximize window hiding Windows 11 Taskbar?

Interesting - did you find a report from other users? I've tried closing GeForce and don't seem to get any luck - the only time it seems to change is sometimes when waking the PC, it reverts back to the correct behaviour. However when the screen next sleeps and comes back the incorrect behaviour...
