Hi all,
This is a just a gentle reminder regarding providing support over private messaging: as many of you are already aware, we do not permit support to be provided over private messaging; all support must be provided in the public forums in order to enable others to learn and receive help too. More importantly, it is also enables us to effectively moderate content and protect our users from abuse and misinformation.
Furthermore, please do not use private messages to circumvent forum restrictions, which are placed on a sub-forum for good reason; for example the Windows Update forum only permits members who have completed the Windows Update Academy training to assist, ensuring those being helped are receiving sound advice which does not jeopardise their system. Many Windows Update fixes involve making critical changes to system files or the registry itself. Those who have been trained will understand these dangers and will understand how to carry out fixes safely.
Thank you for your cooperation.
