Looks like I have an extremely similar problem to this: windows-10-1803-driver-store-corrupt-unable-to-install-drivers-or-upgrade-windows Started when I could no longer print using a printer that's been working for 4+ years. I suspect it was a Windows Update in late August2024. Getting "corrupted registry" messages of both the DRIVER and COMPONENT variety, when trying to reinstall printer drivers manually, or any drivers for that matter. Windows no longer recognizes any USB device plugged into the computer that wasn't already attached, and of course, Windows update no longer functions (Error: 0x800703f1). Ran sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and everything shows clean. My Win 10 install: Windows 10 Pro, 22H2, 19045.4780 I'm going to attach the CBS log, DRIVER and COMPONENT registry files, and ComponentsScanner logs here in the hopes that someone could help me out. Thanks Everyone! I very much appreciate any help! Attachments CBS.zip 3.9 MB · Views: 2 COMPONENTS.zip 14.9 MB · Views: 0 DRIVERS.zip 1,005.6 KB · Views: 1 ComponentsScanner.zip 1.7 KB · Views: 3

No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own. Download DRIVERS.ZIP and save to your desktop. Right-click on it and select Extract all.... Make sure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click Extract. Now we have the DRIVERS file that we will be using to replace your current one. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config Right-click on the current DRIVERS file and select rename. Rename it to DRIVERS.bad. Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again. Take the file from the Drivers folder on your desktop and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\config Afterwards reboot the system and attempt to update. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs. I can install my printer, new video drivers, recognize all my USB devices, and a wave of Windows Updates downloaded and installed successfully! The only thing that occurred is that it cannot install the latest "Optional Quality Update" (KB5041582), with error 0x80070057. I not sure if this is indicative of yet further problems deeper down in my system. Im attaching CBS log as requested. My system is now functional again, which is a massive improvement, so if this is something that cannot be fixed, it might not be a big deal. Thank you so much for your continued help!
