Hi Staff,

Anyway-I think I may have had an issue with an insider accumulative update that had put my Windows 11 pc into a boot loop kind of deal. I think that's fixed by my going into safe mode and running the chkdsk/sfc commands & widows defender checks out. Only thing-and on the internet, some claim win 11 can have issues with dism files running the tool. So, I'm asking you guy's if you can help me out?

The source files could not be found.
Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see Configure a Windows Repair Source.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log

So, this is what I get with cmd line DISM /Online /Clean-up... SFC /scannow claims files are all good.

You are running a Windows Insider build.
ComponentsScanner will not run on Insider builds and will now exit
Press any key to continue. . .

Well, it's all moot now. I re installed windows with a memory stick & OS from the 'creation' site. Unfortunately, this site gave-up on me. At least 'Bleeping Computer' tells you when it's all they can do & re install or something...guest I'll have to stick with them...

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

1. This subforum for Windows Update issues is pretty busy, and you've started this thread just a few days ago so please be patient, see also this thread! > Not received a reply? Quick note on response times
2. That said, you are using an Insider build so therefore the following.

Some notes about using Insider Preview builds:
  • Insider builds of Windows are preview (beta) releases which may contain bugs.
  • When experiencing problems with such builds, please use the Microsoft Feedback HUB to report them to Microsoft.
  • To resolve issues you can perform an in-place-upgrade using the latest ISO or an ISO which you can download from UUPdump.
  • Please also note that some updates for Insider Builds are not available in the Windows Update catalog as stand-alone updates (MSU-packages).
  • Note of Microsoft: "When choosing a channel, you should keep in mind how stable you need your device to be, what level of issues you can handle on your device, how early in development you'd like to see features and changes, and whether or not you need Microsoft support."
  • Another important point is that issues with Insider Builds can be more complex or even completely unknown than regular problems with stable versions of Windows.
  • Some tools developed by Sysnative are not (fully) compatible with Insider Builds.
