Some very sad news to share - Sysnative's founder John Griffith, @jcgriff2, passed away a few weeks ago in September at home in New Jersey.

John has been a huge figure in our community of tech support sites, founding Sysnative in 2012 and had been active for many years before that as an admin on TSF and just about every community site I can name. Thanks to John, hundreds of thousands of users have been helped by his work, analysis & collection tools, and the communities he's helped create. He will be sorely missed by many of us.

We're currently in contact with his family, and will be passing on best wishes from everyone at the various communities he was part of. Please feel free to direct anyone to this thread, and I'll post any updates if I hear more information.

I am indeed broken hearted at this news. 😢 John and I became friends at TSF and he invited me here when he started Sysnative. He was, indeed, a very special and caring person. He also loved to take his car out on the road for a fun trip.

This saddens me greatly. He had told me a few years ago that the docs had found something that alleviated an issue he had, but wouldn't prescribe it because it is an opioid :(

When I would joke that I don't contribute here, he always thanked me for birthday greetings and congrats and such...he said it always gratified him to see me posting...such a nice thing to say

Hopefully he's cruising in his Cadillac somewhere

RIP John

Bill

John and I go way back to my early days at TSF. I have spent time with him, in person, on many occasions. He taught me a great deal about Windows internal works and software troubleshooting. Prior to him I was solely a hardware guy i have not been active for quite a while, but as soon as I got the message I came. John, thank you for being you. The world was a better place with you in it.

Oh that is sad news. I had several interesting DM exchanges with John when I first joined here, he sounded to be a very interesting (and very smart) man.

It doesn't always help but I remind people who have suffered loss that the Earth is (pretty much) a closed system, so all of the atoms and molecules that comprised John are still here, they're just disassembled. It is true when we say of those we have lost that they are still with us. They are all around us.

Truly sad news that broke my heart.

Once I learned of his health many years ago, I checked in with him every once in a while, which he greatly appreciated.

My condolences to the family and loved ones, his passing is a great loss to the world.

I've not been looking forward to this day. John and I became friends online about 5 years ago. We have kept in touch frequently since then. I hate it when we lose such a kind person. We need more John Griffiths in the world.

Love you John, rest now, you've earned it.

Prayers be with his Mom and Family.
