Hey my pc doesn't shutdown sometimes. Whenever this happens I go look at my event viewer after and it throws like 1k to 10k errors depends on how many mins I wait till I force shutdown. The error I get (The server {F9717507-6651-4EDB-BFF7-AE615179BCCF} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout). I found the code in registry but dunno what to do. Thanks for responding. I have seen people say DCOM errors doesn't matter at all but My problem was It sometimes does not shutdown and it keeps loading at shutting down. I let it load for 45 mins and it was still not shutting down. I do get 10 to 20 DCOM errors a day but when this happens it reports like 7k errors Also this error only happens when it is trying to shutdown. I had to hold the power button to turn off the pc everytime this happens.

A person I help had the same problem starting with the 10/2024 Windows Updates. Might be coincidental, but I had her turn off Fast Startup and the problem disappeared.

Those DCOM issues will very unlikely be the cause of your system unable to shut down properly, what other events are in your event log other than those DCOM errors?

oh yea I have fast startup on. Might turn it off if this problem doesn't disappear. Most of people have said the same thing if there is shutdown or start problems

unfortunately no other events. That DCOM error only shows up when my pc is stuck at shutting down. If normal shutdown I never get it. Also it is really weird that I get 6 same DCOM errors per second.

I have not but first I'll try to turn off fast startup if this happens frequently. If that doesn't work then I might have to clean boot. Thank you so much for taking ur time helping me
