Windows update not working and giving error 0x80004002
SFC not working and giving error “Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.”
DISM giving error: "0x80004002 No such interface supported"

After restarts the PC takes ages to boot after Vendor Logo aka after coming to Windows portion of the booting process, says "Please Wait" with the spinning circle taking anywhere between 5-10 minutes to show the Login screen and sometimes it never even boots requiring a full power off

The fixes I've tried:

sfc /scannow - Error “Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.”
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth - Error "0x80004002 No such interface supported"
Tried both of these with Safe Mode as well but got the same result
SFC and DISM from Windows Recovery with multiple different ISO (matching the Windows version and edition) - SFC showed that there are corrupt files but couldn't be fixed and DISM couldn't find the corruption
In place upgrade - which ends up just failing when reaching around 70% with message "Installer couldn't finish"
Farbar Recovery Scan (without any fix lists) - which showed no errors/corruptions
The SFCFIX tool from sysnative (without any fix lists) - which showed no errors/corruptions
A few recovery live USB's but none of the tools there helped
Windows Defender full scan and offline scan - nothing found
Malwarebytes full scan - nothing found
And I unfortunately don't have any Restore Points before the error started showing up

I also saw a few others with the same issue:
Windows Update, sfc & dism not working, Windows 10 22H2 x64 (10.0.19045.4412)
Windows Update, SFC and DISM all end with error 0x80004002

I cant upload CBS logs as this is a Work machine but I can send them in the DM of a technician.
The IT guy at work couldn't fix the issue and his only solution is to format the machine which I'd rather not do and would have it fixed instead.

Thank you in advance!

I would greatly appreciate help on this, as I mentioned its a work machine and I can send the CBS.zip via Direct Message or post it password protected here and then send the password via DM

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Please attach the CBS logs and send me the password in a PM.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like I have an option to send you a message.
EDIT: Got it now

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

You sir are a magician! Thank you so much!
DISM, SFC and Windows Update all worked and the PC boots instantly

SFC_DISM.webp

But I wonder what was the cause of this? I've never seen or had such an issue before.

Thanks again!

You're welcome. In this case the Servicing Stack was corrupt, so I've replaced it with a known good copy.
I will mark this thread as solved.
