Hello,

I'm desperate. For several months now, my secondary DC has been unable to complete cumulative updates. They end with code (0x80246007) or (0x80073712).
Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!

Here’s the CBS log file:

Hi @soif_deconnaissances,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Step 1. Download
67139f7e69a58-SFCFix-ico.PNG
SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Hi Maxstar,

Thank you for your reply. I have just completed both steps and tried running an update again, but it still fails with a different error code: 0xd0000022.

Here the SFCFix logfile, the screenshot of the DISM command and Windows update. Thanks you,

Hi,

Please provide the latest CBS logs.

Upload a copy of the CBS folder
  • Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\Logs folder.
  • Right-click on the CBS folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
  • Click on the Yes button here.

  • Attach the file CBS.zip to your next reply. If the file is too large to attach, upload the CBS.zip file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

The CBS logs are clean, so I would suggest to disable or uninstall Bitdefender first and attempt to update again. It is a well-known problem that third-party software may cause such issues.

I just manually installed the latest cumulative update, and it went through successfully. I’ll try uninstalling Bitdefender next time if the automatic update fails again. Thank you for your time and responsiveness. Have a good day !

Hi,

Great, then this server is connected to an WSUS which causes the 0xd0000022 error I think.

Have a nice day too!
