[SOLVED] Windows Update (error code 0x800700c1)

Hi guys, hope you are well?

I have been trying to update my PC for the last couple of months now.

I am on Windows 11 Pro 23H2, OS build 22631.3593

I have tried SFC and DISM these have not worked

Issue:
When I try to run Windows update, it doesn't work and gives error 0x800700c1

I have followed the forum instructions completing the SFC and DISM

please see logs attached.

If there is any more information needed please reach out!

Step 1. Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.


Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.

DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth
