Hello,

I am having some issues with enabling Defender on a number of WS2016 boxes. Originally I was receiving the error "0x800f081f" when attempting to run "Dism /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:Windows-Defender". Looking in my CBS log I found 34 packages/manifest files which were missing and these were successfully replaced following the steps in this article - Troubleshooting 0x800f081f / 0x800f0982 Error.

Since then, I have attempted to re-enable the feature but receiving a new error within the CBS log along the lines of [HRESULT = 0x80073701 - ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING]. I have attached the full log for reference.

I've downloaded KB5046612 and extracted 6 CAB files. From here I then tried re-installing the CAB files using DISM but this failed saying the source files couldn't be found.

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @JR97,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.
