Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me resolve this issue.

Server 2016 Std and I need to install .Net Framework 4.8 on it and it fails with the following error;

1733774536779.webp

I've tried the .net repair tool, I even uninstalled the .net 4.5 that was installed and now I don't have any 4.x version installed

Please help me! I google searched for similar issues and I see some people did get the same issue fixed with help from you wonderful people. I've attached the CBS log too
🤞🥺

Oh I should say I also ran the sfc /scannow and DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth
Both of which didn't help any unfortunately

I've now read the full posting instructions too ha, apologies. Attaching logs files and running component scanner now

This was a critical issue for me so I banged my head against a wall for a bit longer, trying a whole host of things and I finally stumbled across a solution.
For anyone else who comes across this post, what I did to resolve it was; I tried to install .net 4.7.2 (offline installer) which took an unexpectedly looooooooong time, and it did say "success" at the end, but when I rebooted at the prompt to do so, I saw the blue "windows updating" screen you see before it restarts, and then it failed said it was rolling back changes.
It must have changed something though as the next time I tried installing 4.8 it just worked! ffs! ... then I was able to finally install the latest .net 4.8 security update via windows updates and all was well with the server once more. Not sure why but I don't care why at this point, just happy to have it sorted!
