Cannot send email smtp via ssl

The problem is still there.
I think the best would be to move to Thunderbird.
I have bought a converter to import all my outlook Data into Thunderbird.
This was really a very good tip with Thunderbird.
The program is flexibel, works with all formats, also the new ones like starttls.
Outlook 2000 and Internet Explorer is really outdated.

Thanks lot for your help and good tips.

Cheers mike

Yes I checked sizes and also created new pst.
This is not the only problem in outlook 2000.
It also does not support Starttls, which is a must on more and more servers.

Hi, I know you probably don't want to hear this but it strikes me as an exceedingly bad idea to use both an out of date OS and an ancient version of Outlook for work. No AV either?!
You'd be more secure wiping those PCs and installing Linux and Thunderbird. Not that I would, I would just replace them with more modern windows and apps...

One constructive thought I have is - Is this related to the deprecation of TLS 1.0/1.1? and perhaps your ancient Outlook app doesn't support TLS 1.2+ ?
You allude to this. It's likely your mail provider has enforced a newer TLS version?
