Question eject in Windows

Does Windows send any kind of command to the 2.5" HDD or SSD after the "safely remove hardware" eject command is completed and the letter E: disappears from the system? I use USB 3.0 enclosure case + HDD or SSD

The safely eject command is no longer needed since Windows 10 was introduced.. Just unplug. Since data can no longer be sent between the two, there is no specific need for main drive to "know" what happened.
