Hello,
I am trying to update to Windows 11 23H2 to version 24H2, but I keep getting an Install error - 0x800700c1.

So far, I have tried a simple restart, running Windows Update Troubleshooter, and the repair update, but the update still fails. I tried an repair update from iso but it also failed.
I tried running dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth in CMD prompt, but I get "Error: 0x800f081f
The source files could not be found. Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature.
The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log"

dism startcomponentcleanup and analyzecomponentstore are also ended with an error

I also cannot run sfc /scannow, I get "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service."

Is there anything else I can try to fix this error? I would greatly appreciate any help, thanks in advance.
If it is important I cloned my ssd form 512GB to 1TB half a year ago, but there were no issues.

I've attached my CBS, DISM and componentsScanner logs below.

  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.

DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Hi! Thanks for your help!
SCFfix process ended successfully, but dism restore command failed with the same error -
"Error: 0x800f081f
The source files could not be found. Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature.
The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log"

The dism restore operation has finally been completed successfully, thank you so much! Can I try updating the system or is there something else I need to do?
