[SOLVED] Windows 10 Pro 20H2 (19042.630) update error

Follow these instructions to remove an update.
  • Open the Start menu of Windows and type the command CMD
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  • When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.
Code:
wusa /uninstall /KB:4561600
  • Let me know if it says it was successful or you get the message: The update KB4561600 is not installed on this computer.

This makes some things clearer since this is an old build wich is EOL since 2021. So please try the following.

Download the

Windows 10 Update Assistant to your desktop.
  • Right-click on Windows10Upgrade9252.exe and select the option: Run as administrator.
  • Press the Update now button, click after the compatibility check on Next.
  • The Update Assistant will now download the latest Feature Update.
  • After verifying the download, the Feature Update will be installed.
  • When this process is ready, click on the Restart now button to complete the installation.

I started that Windows Update Assistant.
Then I was given only this choice: (after quite some time of loading and installing) :(
Inplace_attempt.webp

followed by this error (when I chose to interrupt):
Inplace_attempt2.webp

I attached new CBS

🎉🎉🎉
You`r the man! very cool.
To the last moments, I was still expecting some rollback... but this time it did`t.

Hi,

You're welcome. Glad to hear the problem has been resolved, this was an odd one and we had to deal with different issues... (y)

There are several reasons for these kind of corruptions, like; power cycle failures, forced shutdowns, system crashes, harddrive or memory corruptions. Allthough it is difficult to ascertain what the exact cause was. And in this case there were multiple issues and that makes it even more difficult to explain the root cause.
