Windows update broken | Windows Server 2019

Hi,

Are you able to disconnect this server from WSUS and try to install the latest updates using Windows Update?
 
Okay, it seems KB5034127 (January 2024) is the latest LCU which is correctly installed, so please try the following.

Follow these instructions to install an update with DISM.
  • Open the Start menu of Windows and type CMD.
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, select the option Run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste the following command into it, and press enter. (Leave the CMD window open!)

  • Now, download the following update (KB5053596) to: C:\WUTemp - Or copy this file from the download directory to C:\WUTemp. (Important!)
    Downloadlink: KB5053596
  • Copy and paste the following commands one at a time into the command prompt and press enter after each.

Please provide the latest CBS logs.

Upload a copy of the CBS folder
  • Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\Logs folder.
  • Right-click on the CBS folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
  • Click on the Yes button here.

  • Attach the file CBS.zip to your next reply. If the file is too large to attach, upload the CBS.zip file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.
 
So what did you mean by the above and why you couldn't disconnect the server from WSUS?
Sorry my be i misunderstood something.

So our server architetct said"It is connected to WSUS with manual updates."
But i can only use System/Windows Update method to update the system.

No problem, and please try to update again because the latest CBS logs does not show any useful information in relation to this eror code.

If it fails again with the same error, provide the latest CBS logs and the WindowsUpdate log.

Export the Windows Update log
  • Right-click on the Start button and click Windows PowerShell (Admin).
  • Copy and paste the following command into it, press enter afterwards

  • Wait for the message "WindowsUpdate.log written to C:\Users\<username>\Desktop\WindowsUpdate.log".
  • Attach the logfile WindowsUpdate.log to your next reply.

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.
