Hello and welcome,

Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log.
  1. Download SURT for your system. (Windows Server 2008 R2 x64)
  2. Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go through the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes).
  3. On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log.
  4. Attach this log to your next reply.
Alternatively, if these instructions are unclear for you, you can follow the tutorial below.
System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)

Please do following only.

Step 1:
  1. Double-click SFCFix.exe to run the tool. A dialog may come up asking for approval. If it does go ahead and allow.
  2. On completion a log file (SFCFix.txt) will be opened. Attach that log file to your next reply.

Step 2:
  1. Click the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.

    Code:
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.
Note: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Gofile or WeTransfer and just provide the download link.

I have had some success in that I was able to manual install 36 patches in groups of 2-3 and recording what failed and then not installing that patch
so far what I am left with is the below patch's that fail
attached the CBS.log and SFCFix.txt as well

Read the instructions carefully. I asked to do 2 steps only, nothing else.
Please do following only:

Install Update with DISM
  1. Download the update MSU here: https://download.microsoft.com/down...73B-4094C1F58646/Windows6.1-KB2592687-x64.msu
  2. Copy the MSU file to a convenient location (such as C:\temp).
  3. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  5. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    cd C:\temp

replace C:\temp with your path if different

    expand Windows6.1-KB2592687-x64.msu -f:* C:\temp

    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\temp\Windows6.1-KB2592687-x64.cab
  6. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
Make sure to allow the computer to restart if prompted.
  7. If you receive any other message:
Post a screenshot of the Commandprompt window.
Zip and attach the file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

the extract works fine, the DISM install worked fine and asked for a restart.
I restarted and it started to show "15% installed" and then went to the screenshot attached "Reverting changes"

I can see this error in the logs
2024-06-25 19:58:28, Error CSI 0000000f (F) Error: ResolvePendingTransactions called after poqexec failure (call 1)
Status = STATUS_SHARING_VIOLATION, Operation = CreateFile, DiagString = [l:72{36}]"\??\C:\Windows\fonts\StaticCache.dat"

rebooted in to a Clean Boot state and when I first tried to run the extract and DISM I got the attached error 5

I redownloaded the msu file and extracted the msu and ran DISM again, attached screenshot
it asked for a reboot selected Yes and and failed installing on reboot and reverted the update.
attached the CBS and DISM log files

FRST Scan:
  1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  2. Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  3. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  4. Press the Scan button.
  5. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  6. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Hi PeterJ

sorry but I can't run that tool, it gets picked up and removed by AV, can't disable the AV.

can't disable the AV.
Why not and what is the name of it ?
Provide a screenshot of the detection if possible.

Try this tool:
Download
51e15692b05a4-MiniToolbox.PNG
MiniToolBox and save the file on your desktop.

Note: Save all your work and close all programs!
Rightclick "MiniToolBox" and select "Run as administrator".

If you see the startup message "Are you sure you want to continue?" select Yes.
Put a checkmark at Select All.
Click "Go".
When the scan is finished a log file with the name "MTB.txt" will appear on your desktop.
Attach this log file to your next reply.
