COX Modem Update

Received an e-mail from COX saying that a Reset of their modem will increase speed from 150mbps to 250mbps.
Is this worthwhile to take the chance? Would it have an impact on the Router or would the router get the data at 250 but send to
the computer at 150?
This is their modem which, as I wrote some time back, I am unable to see the settings.

If they send you an e-mail with instructions, you follow them, and were it to fail, they're going to have to supply you with a replacement unit anyway.

Service providers very seldom send out this sort of message without the expectation that the recipients will be able to apply a suggested change with ease.
 
All it requires is to unplug it for 10-30 seconds and plug it back in. All that happens is they send a provisioning signal that sometimes needs a reboot of the router. Unplugging it and plugging it back in would not hurt at all.

I'd also call Cox just verify that they sent the email.
