From the factory the HDD was connected to SATA #1 and the DVD to SATA #3. I connected the SSD to SATA #4.BIOS priority had set the SSD before the HDD. I don't know what determined this, but I just presumed since the SSD was on port #4 that BIOS would have put it at the end of the priority list. Anyway I did change this & pressing the ESC key at startup did show the SSD after the HDD in the Boot Menu, just like I set it. But it made me wonder if there was a conflict between the bios priority order & the SATA port order.
