GSmartControl Updates

I just noticed I've used an 'canned speech' in this thread which pointed to an older release on github.

How to check your SMART status with GSmartControl

Info

When the following popup from SmartScreen appears, you can ignore it by clicking the More info link in the message! GSmartControl is not digitally signed and means that it could be flagged as malicious or be blocked by any third party security software as well!

How to export your SMART / DRIVE status with GSmartControl as Text File
  • Open the Self-Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete).
  • Note: When you see 'aborted lines' in the preview window, please ignore them and wait for the process to complete - even when it seems there is no progress. Just wait for the message: "Test Successful" or any failures!
  • When the Self-test completed click on the Save As button and save it as Text Files (*.txt) instead of the default setting (*json;*.txt).
