I am trying to install a different Linux distro on an old ASUS 2-in-1 laptop. I was able to install MX Linux from a live USB, which runs OK. But I would like to install Puppy Linux and see it it will run better with that distro. I tried with both a live USB flash drive and an external optical drive containing a live Linux DVD. The results are the same.
When I tap the Esc key for the boot menu I set it to boot from the USB.
Likewise in the BIOS menu I have it set to boot to the external optical drive when that was connected.
As you can see, I attempted booting to both a USB flash drive and an external optical drive. In both cases the laptop booted to MX Linux which is on the hard drive.
Is there anything else I can try? Both the USB flash drive and the DVD were correctly burned from a .iso file to be a bootable live medium.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
