Internet Explorer 9 / 10 Problem - Windows Update Fails on Windows 7 64bit

Hello, I'm not sure exactly how to go about explaining this, but here I go! My main problem is I can't uninstall Internet Explorer 9 or install Internet Explorer 10.

Heres my system information:
Windows 7 Home Premium
Service Pack 1
Manufacturer: Dell
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz
Ram: 12.0GB
System Type: 64-bit

I think wife may have forcefully uninstalled a pre-installed version Internet Explorer 9 a year or so ago. (Shes not positive)
I didn't realize there was a problem until a new job required me to use an Autodesk program (3dsmax)
The program needed to use Internet Explorer to verify a registration & the page(they use a page to verify on start up) was blank. On a side note I usually use Firefox as an actual browser, but it seems Internet Explorer is required for this.

Anyway, after an hour or so of trying to get the browsers settings to match autodesks requirements I checked in Windows Update for new versions. From here all hell broke loose!

I hadn't been looking at windows update logs for quite a while before this, but after trying to install Internet Explorer 9 & 10 important updates I saw in the logs that some of the exact same updates had kept installing over & over.

For the Internet Explorer problem I've been trying to download them but get the errors:
Code 9C48
&
Code 9C57

The update that keeps installing repeatedly is: KB2872339

Honestly I don't know what the exact problem any more. I've been trying to fix this literally for 2 days straight. I may have done more damage then good! I cleared my restore points by mistake while trying to fix it, and I don't have a backup disk of my OS.

I've tried so many things I'm not sure whats relevant!

I highly appreciate any help at all with this matter I'm completely lost. Nothing seems to be working.

I'm so, so sorry for the delay! Uni started last week so my time is quite limited now, but I've managed to clear up a few threads and now have time to take on yours.

Having reviewed your CheckSUR logs, I'm afraid the only way to fix this is to perform a repair install.
