[SOLVED] Latest windows update and battery problems

My windows 11 wont update to 2024-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5040442). It says Download error - 0x80040154. I ran Farbar already to make sure there wasn't any virus. I think it worked but im not super positive as I can't afford to get a pricey malware remover. The sysnative website states "Copy/paste both FRST.txt and Addition.txt into your reply." but says to not add logs so im confused. Also, my computer never charges past 58%, dies at 6%, and never keeps a charge for more than 40 minutes. I've tried restarting, resetting, leaving it on the charger for days. Nothing has worked.

Your issues are not related with malware infection, based on your description. However, I can check your computer for malware, if you like, to ensure that everything is clean, before I send you to the Windows Updated Forum.

It's fine to attach your logs here, and, actually, I prefer you to do so rather than copy and paste the logs.

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop. --> IMPORTANT

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

If your antivirus software detects the tool as malicious, it’s safe to allow FRST to run. It is a false-positive detection.

If English is not your primary language, right click on FRST.exe/FRST64.exe and rename to FRSTEnglish.exe/FRST64English.exe
  • Double-click the FRST icon to run the tool. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button and wait for a while.
  • The scanner will produced two logs on your Desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.
  • Please attach the content of these two logs in your next reply.
 
I hope this works and that you can read these. I have already downloaded the Farbar recovery scan tool and I've had it scan once.

Hi.

The computer is clean, but the DISM error above (as well as the error you are getting trying to update) indicates a broken servicing stack registration, in my opinion.

I recommend you to start a new topic at the Windows Update Forum, indicating that the computer was tested and found clean.
