Just curious if anyone knows if Microsoft's Azure Speech program (SPX) will run on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I signed on to Azure and created a subscription to SPX. Then on my Windows 7 machine downloaded and installed all required software (Visual Studio 2019, the appropriate SDKs, etc). The program loads and runs but fails on generating the speech with a "no remote host" type of error.

My first curiosity is "will the Azure SPX run on Windows 7 through CLI, or am I going to have to move this project to Windows 10 machine?" If it will run on Windows 7 I may have follow up questions with more detail. I can't find anything that says yes or no to this issue.

Have you tried the "run in compatibility mode" function? I haven't had Windows 7 in a long time.

If you right-click the icon of the exe you want to run and choose properties, click the compatibility tab, check the box "run this program in compatibility for:" Does the dropdown have a Windows 7 option?

Does it even work this way or only looking backward from Windows 7? Heck, I can't remember. It's worth a look.
