From: Microsoft Edge preview builds: The next step in our OSS journey | Windows Experience Blog
In December, we announced our intention to adopt the Chromium open source project in the development of Microsoft Edge on the desktop. Our goal is to work with the larger Chromium open source community to create better web compatibility for our customers and less fragmentation of the web for all web developers.

Today we’re embarking on the next step in this journey – our first Canary and Developer builds are ready for download on Windows 10 PCs. Canary builds are preview builds that will be updated daily, while Developer builds are preview builds that will be updated weekly. Beta builds will come online in the future. Support for Mac and all supported versions of Windows will also come over time.

For more in depth information see What to expect in the new Microsoft Edge Insider Channels - Microsoft Edge Blog.

One nice aspect of the preview is if you already use Microsoft Edge, that existing version installed on your device(s) at this time will continue to work along side with the builds from any of the Microsoft Edge Insider Channels.

From Twitter,
The first Dev channel update is live! Be sure to update your browser to the latest version (75.0.131.0) and check out the latest news on our welcome page.

The Canary build is updated daily and the Dev build is updated weekly, thus, this being the first weekly Dev update.

There was a bug in the build released yesterday that resulted in the browser not loaded. It was discovered quickly and the update was removed. As indicated in the latest update, the bug has been fixed and a new build released. See Dev channel update to 76.0.167.1 is live for the changes, improvements and bug fixes.

Some of the more noteworthy fixes in the new build as shared at Dev channel update to 76.0.172.0 is live
  • Fixed an issue where Edge sometimes crashes on launch.
  • Fixed a crash when viewing settings in InPrivate.
  • Clicking the shortcut for a pinned website will now select a tab that contains the shortcut’s website if one is already open instead of opening a new tab every time.
  • Hovering over a website’s address on the history page now shows the full URL.
  • Fixed an issue where the first launch experience doesn’t happen if the user isn’t connected to the internet.
  • Fixed an issue where certain dialogs are cut off on small screens.
  • Fixed an issue where the side panels on certain edge:// pages aren’t visible when the window is at a narrow height.
  • Fixed an issue where the horizontal scrollbar did not appear on certain pages.

  • Fixed an issue where a "Microsoft Edge stopped working" dialog sometimes appears even though Edge is still running.
  • Fixed an issue where the wrong account picture is sometimes used when a user signs in with multiple accounts.
  • Fixed an issue where video control popups are cut off if they're near the edge of the page.
  • Fixed an issue where video control buttons may overlap each other on small videos.
  • Fixed an issue where entries on the history page get cut off when the window is at a narrow width.
  • Increased the height of the rows in the address bar dropdown.
  • Fixed an issue where the first run experience didn't render properly.

Note:

Update 6/4/19: In addition to the Canary Channel we released last week, you can now download the Dev channel for macOS from the Microsoft Edge Insider website. This release enables dark mode, which makes your tabs, address bar, toolbar, menus, and other elements use dark colors if you have your macOS theme set to “Dark Mode.” We’ll expand dark mode in the coming weeks to include other parts of Microsoft Edge, such as settings and management pages. Check it out, and let us know your thoughts using the “Send feedback” smiley, the Microsoft Edge Insider forums, or by reaching out on Twitter.
