Hello.
I was referenced to here bij @Maxstar and was asked by him to tag @x BlueRobot too for this issue.
Short description of what happened.
It's a newly bought pc in 2017. With an MSI mainboard which has that military logo in the bios. PC is an Intel i5, I can give specific specs if needed.
Problem is that now already for the 3rd time I have this pc (got it from a friend), it works some time, then suddenly strange things start to happen like disturbances in applications or they don't even start, Windows is starting to misbehave.
All in a way that it would point to either memory or disk problems. So we did an extensive memory test. Maxstar knows about this.
Last year October the system was already installed newly again. Also that time various Windows files were corrupted or missing and a repair was not possible anymore.
In May the PC had issues again and I was able to resolve it by doing several repair commands amongst the well-known DISM command.
Now suddenly 2 days ago, again things started happening again. A quick check learned that again some Windows system files were corrupted and even missing. So we did an extensive HDD check again, which resulted in the fact that no issues at all were found.
At this moment the HDD has been replaced and PC is back to my daughter who got it from me.
The harddisk which was in that PC before, is now in my own pc for investigation purposes.
Since neither the memory test nor the disk test pointed to isseus, I'm wondering what exactly is causing this problem now, since it seems to re-occur. At least with the old disk until now.
Is it still memory? Or is it indeed the disk? Or is it the sata cable? Or is it the onboard sata controller?
Because it runs for some months quite good and then suddenly things start to happen.
Now I managed to retreive the crashdump file from yesterday when I was trying to see what was going on and the system spontaniously rebooted on the automatic disk check Windows did.
Also I have a memory dump (which is too big to attach) and a minidump file from May this year, the other time the system was going crazy.
Unfortunately I was not able to use the tools referenced too here, because I was only now advised to post the issue and the dump here for investigation purposes.
I've attach botht he crashdump and the minidump to this thread.
Please let me know if additional information is needed. Also as said, the HDD where this occured with is available on my own pc at the moment as additional disk so I can access it.
