hi:

its been awhile and maybe you forgot me........my CBS log is on sendspace per instructions from tom. I am experiencing error 80070663 for MS Office 2010 updates kb2598039, kb2597091, kb2553447, kb2553091. I have uninstalled MSO PP 2010 w/ revouninstaller, uninstalled all OFFICE updates, deleted files in c:\windows\softwaredistribution\datastore folder, run a good registry cleaner (not cc cleaner), and reinstalled MS OFFICE Prof Pro 2010 OEM version. My system is W7E 64-bit and OS and OFFICE (32-bit) are LICENSED per Volume Activation Management Tool 2.0. I am sure we need a review of the cab manifests and packages again

thx guys....

I installed latest SURT and it shows no error(s) plus cleaned up kbs that would not install prior to today. I had (4) Kbs that would not install, now down to 3 presently - kb2850016, kb2589352, kb2837583. All 3 related to MS OFFICE 2010 Prof Plus. See attached new_CBS.log. Maybe I should move this issue to another FORUM category?

thx...tom982 solved initial problem w/ no updates, cleaned up a bunch of issues. Shall we forward thread to tom982?

Hello abro89!

I am so sorry that your thread slipped under the radar. I shall now be helping you.

First, please attempt to install all three updates manually, by downloading them from here:
Download Security Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2850016) 64-Bit Edition from Official Microsoft Download Center
Download Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2589352) 64-Bit Edition from Official Microsoft Download Center
Download Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2837583) 64-Bit Edition from Official Microsoft Download Center

If the installation still fails, please use the Fix-It here: How to enable Windows Installer logging

to enable verbose Windows Installer logging. Then attempt to install all three updates again from those links. I then wish for you to click Start, type exactly the following into the search bar, and press enter: %temp%

Next, collect all of the files which begin with the letters "MSI", copy to your Desktop, zip up, and upload.

Finally, please disable verbose Windows Installer logging: How to enable Windows Installer logging

thx for assisting. This is madding for me. (3) Kbs will mot install. Here is the msi.zip that you requested. Note the 64b KBs (KB2850016, Kb2589352, and KB2837583) did not install manually. A dialog box appeared saying "no products affected by this pkg installed on this system". I have 32-b OFFICE 2010 Prof Plus, the KBs recommended for download and manual install are 64-b.

see msi.zip for logs:

Download msi.zip from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

where are we? Do you need additional info? I performed manual install of KBs as requested but no go. msi files attached and in previous reply. It looks like totall removal of WIN OFFICE 2010 Prof Plus, remove all KBs w/ OFFICE, and reinstall. What do you think??

Hi,

Richard will be with you as soon as he can. Our resident Windows Update experts are actually away currently, leaving only Richard, and he's currently going through various threads that are also a bit behind.

Regards,

Patrick

no problem....at your convenience of coarse!!!. I understand what a low headcount means. You guys are the best. I am learning CBS t/s'g as I think that is where my problem lies for security updates for MS Office and VISIO only.
