I was hosting a Zoom call from a small conference room and had my laptop resting on the end of a long table so that the HDMI cable could reach the TV mounted on the wall. When somebody from the opposite end of the table spoke, the people logged in remotely could not hear well, or at all. The on-site participants had to shout from the other end of the table or move closer to my laptop.

I was wondering if there is a corded external mic that I could plug into a USB port or a wireless mic that we could pass around the table to prevent this from happening next meeting. I know I could Google it, but I thought I would ask for a recommendation here before I think about buying one.

We tend to use these Jabra Speak speakerphones in our smaller conference rooms, they work well and are automatically detected by windows so no drivers or software to deal with Jabra Speak2 55

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm afraid the Jabra device is over my budget, but it looks like a nice piece of equipment. The sound from the TV on the wall is loud and clear, so I don't really need a speaker, just a microphone that will pick up voices from 8 feet away.

I appreciate the reply.
