Server 2022 - Problem installing updates

I have a Server 2022 system that hasnt installed any updates since a few months back.

Currently it is trying to install KB5042322 that fails with 0x80070643, a google shows that KB5042322 was a replacement KB for another update to WinRE that also caused 0x80070643, this was due to the recovery partition being to small. However this servers recovery partition is on the same as the OS partition. So i cannot resize it.

It is also trying to install KB5044281 and this fails with 0x800f0831 - CBS_E_STORE_CORRUPTION however neither SFCFix and ComponentScanner finds any corruption.

I am out of ideas and wherever I look online the only remaining troubleshooting step is to do a inplace upgrade / repair.
Please advice :)
