Hello,

Several servers with Windows Server 2022 Standard 21H2, Build 20348.1547 have stuck on the last update with the error:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200B: 2024-10 Cumulative Update for Microsoft server operating system version 21H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5044281).
It stuck on 3% of the installation. I downloaded that CU and tried a manual update but the installation wizard also stuck on 3%.
I can see also in the CBS logs an error HRESULT = 0x80073701 - ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING
I tried everything I could find in this community, including SFC scan, Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, and ComponentScanner output, which returned nothing.
I even tried to apply an SFCfix file provided by you to a guy with a similar problem ([SOLVED] - Server 2022 - recurring Cumulative Update failure with 0x8024200B) being aware that this can break my OS (I made a vmware snapshot before that) but that also didn't help.
So, I hope you can help me with this.
Here are my log files attached.

Hi @jamezxxx,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.
