Few days ago I run sfc /scannow and it stopped at 20%. Soon after my PC was unable to boot so had to do a repair install/reinstall of windows 10 with all the documents and non-system files intact. I thought that was it. However my PC continued to act weird and I repeat sfc /scannow. This time it stopped at 18%. I repeated the scan in windows safe boot but no change. So I run SFCFix.exe and the process ended with an error code:
"Error: 1117
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."
After that I run DISM:
- /checkhealth ----> No component store corruption detected. The operation completed successfully.
- /scanhealth ----> Error: 1117; The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
- /restorehealth ----> Error: 1117; The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
Now I'm being stuck and asking for help.
By "my PC acting weird" I meant extreme slowdown and unresponsiveness which happened more or less abruptly at running full antivirus (Bitdefender 2015) scan of my C: drive (windows, software). The scan stopped at 28% and I was unable to stop the scan or exit it. The PC became totally unresponsive and I had to shut it down with power button. After that I repeated the scan and the same thing happened. This time I remembered the folder where the scan got stuck and run the scan only of this folder and PC became unresponsive again. After that I was unable to boot it and had to do a repair install of windows 10 (documents and non-system files, folders remained intact). Than I performed the aforementioned procedures (sfc scan, sfcfix, dism). Please help.
My system:
windows 10 64bit pro
boot drive ocz revodrive3 x2, according to ocz software OCZ SSDGuru v.1.3.1571 the drive is in 100% health
amd fx-8150, 8 core
