Good News!!! Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Any idea what may have caused this. I initially thought it may be due to switching from an intel platform to an AM5 platform with out doing a clean install. I then suspected ram but it passed all memory tests including memtest etc.. Cant begin to thank you enough, this just saved me a clean install. I'm going to make a donation, you guys rock!!

Thanks for donating $50.00 USD to

Again thanks for taking the time to help me with this, very hard for me to take the time for a clean install and reconfig with three small kids running around

You're welcome and glad to hear SFC completed successfully this time.

The ProcMon trace showed a number of the following lines with an access denied issue for all the *.lnk files (shortcuts).
Rich (BB code):
7/6/2024 1:51:24 PM TiWorker.exe CreateFile C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer-shortcuts_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.22621.1_none_194db5aa04aa3ef0\02a - Windows PowerShell.lnk ACCESS DENIED Desired Access: Read Data/List Directory, Read Attributes, Synchronize, Disposition: Open, Options: Synchronous IO Non-Alert, Non-Directory File, Attributes: n/a, ShareMode: Read, Write, Delete, AllocationSize: n/a, Impersonating: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

For some reason there was an issue with the permissions of these files - even when the result of icacls looked good to me. Replacing the complete WinSxS component from a working system was the solution. But perhaps manually resetting the permissions would have worked too.

Many thanks for your donation to Sysnative, that's much appreciated... (y)

Hi Maxtar, this issue returned when I upgraded to 24H2. I've tested my nvme's, my ram everything. Am I better off just cutting my losses and wiping the drive and doing a clean installation of windows 11. I did try performing an in place repair build but the corruption persists.
