Hi I have the same issue as the original poster 'Hapaxoromenon'. I have previously followed the three bits of advice:1- Volume Shadow Copy service (started, automatic); 2- Microsoft Software Shadow Copy service (started, set to automatic); 3- Group Policy (changed Disable System restore to '0' ). None of these solved the problem.

I am nervous about modifying registry values. So, before I apply the 'kaspersky_fix.reg', I went to the registry key position (Registry Editor image above). The current value of UpperFilters is shown as 'ambakdrv' (not 'volsnap').

Could I modify this some other way, e.g. via the Edit Multi-string window (which opens when I double-click UpperFilters)?
