I have a TP-Link Archer C7.V2 Over the last month I am having an issue that MAY be related to it. I have a Cap-Tel phone, an AT&T phone and my computer running through MagicJack.
Suddenly the dial tone on the Cap-Tel drops once in a while while on the computer. The AT&T has no problem.
My question is about the “Wireless 2.4GHz → Wireless Advanced setting of "Enabled AP Isolation" This function can isolate wireless stations on your network from each other. Wireless devices will be able to communicate with the router but not with each other. To use this function, check this box. AP Isolation is disabled by default.
If I set this option will it keep the Cap-Tel phone separate from the other devices? Will it mess up my other devices going through MagicJack also?
I just remember that my wife's computer is connected wireless.

AP Isolation has been known to keep things like Chromecast from working properly. I would leave it disabled.

Your router should give each device it's own IP# which effectively "isolates" it.

Or...

Turn it on and test it. You can always turn it back off if things don't work as expected.

Let us know.

I unplugged each of the connections and waited a minute. I did NOT unplug the power. At this moment there is
a dial tone. This is confusing when it happens. It seems to be when the computer is on. But only sometimes.
I will live with it.
Thanks for the info on the router setting.
Also, the Cap-Tel, at times, automatically resets. The reset does not always bring the dial tone back. That is their problem.
I usually default strange events like this to Jack Daniel's. It takes the frustration down if not the solution.
Thanks again

This problem still occurs. Cap-Tel is sending another phone. In the mean time, I am going to turn that option on and see what happens.
I will do it after any more responses to this reply. How can I find the IP# of each device? This might show a conflict if they use the same number.
Thanks
Re-Reading the doc for AP Isolation talks about Wireless connections. My wife's computer is the only wireless device(she is in another room with NO wired connection to the router). The phones and my computer have wired connection to the router. Every connection is at 2.4ghz.

I have a very old printer ( 2003) that used to be connected to my router by a very old parallel print server. I wasn't able to set a static IP because the setup program needed an old version of Windows. I kept losing the IP of the printer so I'd have to run that program to locate the printer before I could print anything. That program saved my bacon many a time.
