[SOLVED] WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR - Hellllp! FIX: I changed my faulty m.2 SSD with a new one (also a new gpu).

My Mobo has two m.2 slots. My m.2 has always been in the top one. I just moved it to the bottom one and retested. BSOD. Same bug check code.

Based on this, is it the m.2 drive itself after all or possibly the mobo?

I also did doublecheck my paging file settings as @ubuysa mentioned (so maybe i could get dump files generated). its set to automatically manage it (attached)

A guy using destiny 2 (here) says:

Hence the culprit seems the game itself.
Did you try if other BSODs happen with other games?

Another guy (here and here) says he "solved" the problem uninstalling Opera GX (and he says chromium based browser will cause the same problem).
Therefore you could try to uninstall chrome and test.

I found again the same guy (in another reddit thread) and he said he disabled "Intel Turbo Boost Technology".
Given that you are using an amd CPU, the option will differ in your bios settings.
Maybe it could be called precision boost 2.
I'm going to check your MB manual. :-)

In my searches, I found at least one other guy with the same game and the same bugcheck...

When I am at home again I will look for that setting in my BIOS and see if it is enabled.

I can certainly uninstall chrome and retest too but I have always used chrome.

I was just able to use a friend's m.2 which had windows and destiny 2 on it (since that is the game I have always recreated the bsod with). No bsod.

This all makes me want to think my m.2 is bad. The only thing not making sense to me is why my friends GPU worked with my m.2?

@xilolee - I tested 2, 3, and 4 individually of each other. If i need to test them all together, please let me know.

1) try to uninstall chrome (and chromium based browsers). - uninstalled chrome, only have pre-installed edge.
2) try to disable precision boost overdrive in bios settings. - changed from Auto to Disabled, still BSOD
3) try to turn off Global C state control and CPPC in BIOS settings. - changed from Auto to Disabled, still BSOD
4) set the RAM to run at 3200MHz. - Changed from Auto to 3200mhz still BSOD
5) install the newest chipset drivers: 4.11.15.342, 21 november 2022 - already had the latest chipset driver as this was something i updated while troubleshooting as well, still BSOD

I can certainly give hdsentinel a try.

Yes, keep them disabled.
If the bsod still appears, you could try to change your SSD.
Then, if even this won't work: the mb, the cpu or the psu remain as possible culprits.

CPU and PSU are easiest to rule out by replacing them with known good ones. Motherboard not so much.

Got a new M.2 installed. No BSODs since.

What I'm not understanding though is why. I ran chkdsk and multiple other software checks (Sabrent, Seagate, HDSentinnel) on my previous M.2 and never found errors. Any thoughts on this?

My Mobo has built in heat sinks. When I checked temps of the previous M.2 the highest was 51 degrees. Shouldn't that be fine?
