[SOLVED] Win10 22H2 failure to install both KB5031356 & KB5031445

OK, nothing being flagged in your latest CBS.log, so please try updating again (just KB5031356 for the time being).

If successful please let me know, if not please post me your latest CBS.log

Success! KB5031356 installed correctly. I'm unavailable now until tomorrow, but should I try installing KB5031445 next?

Your choice.

KB5031445 is an update preview, so strictly speaking it doesn't matter whether it's installed or not, as any features it contains will be present in this month's full update.

Personally I don't bother with update previews, since they have a tendency to be a bit more buggy than the full updates. In essence they're a last final "beta" test before the release of the full update. They've been tested of course, but you can't really test for all eventualities, so by releasing a preview Microsoft get a chance to see whether it causes problems, and they're then able to resolve those problems before releasing the full monthly update.

If you do decide to install KB5031445, please let me know if successful, or post your CBS.log if unsuccessful.

Good point. I was only invested in the optional update this time as a possible workaround for the issues with the regular update, but now that's worked I'm not bothered about the optional one really.

I'll mark this solved then, and thanks so much for all your help!
