Do you have hidden and system files showing in your settings?

Please do the following.

Retrieve System Information
1. Download Speccy to your desktop. The setup file will be named spsetup130.exe or something similar.
2. Double-click on this file and install it. Note: Please ensure that you uncheck any foistware that may be presented during the install (i.e. Chrome Browser install).
3. When the program opens it will retrieve some information regarding your system.
4. Once it's done, select the File menu and choose Publish snapshot. Answer Yes to the confirmation message.
5. On the next screen that comes up, choose the Copy to Clipboard button and paste this link in your next reply.

I'm surprised this machine even took Windows 10 initially. Are all the drivers as up to date as they can be from the manufacturer website?

I think she updated all her computers because it was offered during Microsoft's push. I don't see any drivers listed for 10 of course. If I just hide the update using the Microsoft tool maybe that will prevent it from trying to update daily and failing?

We can prevent future updates for sure but that leaves the machine vulnerable. Obviously your call. Since this one is not supported on Windows 10...I'm not sure there is much more I can do. I appologize but these Windows 10 upgrade issues have been a real issue.

Well it is just this anniversary update. Other updates have been installing. I guess I'll block that update and then try the Creators update when it comes out and if that one fails, just block it as well.

Well it is just this anniversary update. Other updates have been installing. I guess I'll block that update and then try the Creators update when it comes out and if that one fails, just block it as well.

Are you installing the update through Windows Update or from the downloadable image (Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant)? Have you tried both methods?
