Hi everyone,

Like some others, I am unable to install the latest MS security fix, as well as any pre-requisite updates. I found article # post182097 on this site and it described exactly what I am seeing:
1. I tried to uninstall KB2718704 - it immediately failed.
2. I tried re-downloading that update and installing it - it immediately told me that it was not applicable to my machine.
3. I downloaded the FRST64 tool and ran the registry scan for KB2718704 - the results match those of the other person from the prior thread. I attached the file to this post.

While I suppose I could figure out how to build my own 'fixit' file, by comparing the previous user's scan results (and ensuing fixit file) against my own, I would really appreciate it if you could build and send me my own personalized fixit file.

Thank you in advance!

Just as a side note, I downloaded and ran the SFCFIX.exe program and while it was not 'successful', it did not seem to find many things wrong. Regardless, it did not 'fix' my system. I have attached the file just in case.

Thanks!

In lieu of any feedback here, I went ahead and assembled a fixit file based on my own scan results and those of another user. I ran the fixit file with the same results as the other user. However, my system updates still do not work. I re-searched for the offending KB update, and found no hits in the registry, so that was good. However, any recent system/security updates result in immediate "not applicable to your system." I downloaded and ran the System Update Readiness tool. I got one 'result': CSI Missing Root Key 0x0000002 HKLM\Components\CanonicalData\Deployments

So...at this point I am at a loss... Any ideas?

Thanks again...

Unfortunately not, but then again maybe. My PC is a 'company' machine. The support folks don't really try to 'fix' things, they just resort to "wiping and re-installing". I tried to fend them off for a few days, but, everything I tried from this forum simply lead to 'other' problems. I finally gave in and they wiped my machine (saving my data first) and installed Win 10. All was good for a week or so, but then today some kind of zero-day exploit security patch was pushed out to everyone in the company, and... it killed me. I am not in a continuous loop of "Automatic Repair Mode" (which then fails, and thus re-loops). I will do some research on this one, but it appears they are going to have to re-build me yet another pc...

Thanks anyway...

-David
