ok,let me describe im on a game first freeze than bluescreen! after that i had ntfs error wich could be fixed but some programms seems to be broken because i cant start it. i reinstalled and all seems ok but sfc shows nothing and stuck btw abort at 29%. at this moment iremember ur last help and begun run sfcfix. sfcfix try run dism and found no source...thats the story.

Re: [Win8.1] sfc file corruption

ok,will update my experience...
last time we figured out dotnet was one of the issues...and we had no glue why!
now i know has to do with ntfs error caused by a freeze with a bad programmed game! after succesfull chkdsk perform because bad sectors, some of the programms couldnt start!
after reinstall, the SFC file corruption is still standing there! only permissions took where the right way last time!
mfg
p.s. sorry for doublepost is it ok?

Re: [Win8.1] sfc file corruption

as you can see sfcfixlog has now detected coruptions...

Re: [Win8.1] sfc file corruption

NTFS corruption is never a good thing and suggests disk problems. Let's find out:

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to test your hard drive health with GSmartControl:

  • Download GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the content of the GSmartControl .zip archive and execute gsmartcontrol.exe; To extract you can right-click your mouse on the GSmartControl.zip file and select Extract.
  • Identify your drive in the list, and double-click on it to bring up it's window (usually you'll find your drive by it's size or it's brand name);
  • Go in the Perform Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, copy and paste their name in your next reply (or take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply);

Looks good. Yes, it would be a reasonable guess that the freeze / crash caused some files to be lost.

Go ahead and run SFC /scannow . If any corruption is detected, zip and attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log with your reply.
