Are you able to open the settings screen? If so open Update & Security > Recovery and click on Get started under the option Reset this PC.
Is the option Keep my files available in this window?
 
Open an elevated command prompt and run the following command.

Normally it will open a blue window to reset the PC with the option keep my files.
 
Great, select this option and follow the instructions. This will perform a repair install with the current Windows image.
 
When you choose Use another operating system, are able to boot into Windows again?
 
Yes, I was able to boot. No changes to the lost functionality however, as expected.

Yes, it's one of a number of keys obtained from college years ago (either a W10 key or an upgrade from a Win7 one) I gave my dad to use on his PC (this one).

  • Open the website VirusTotal
  • Click on the choose file button and navigate to the following file(s) in the codebox below.

Obtaining a number of keys sounds doubtful to me, in particular because I noticed the following entry's which are used by KMS toolkits to illegally 'activate' systems. As well as the value "AllowInPlaceUpgrade" which was set to 0x0 is not common either.
