I have searched for this Update KB5033052 everywhere, it is not found in the microsoft-update catalogue online. The update-routine remains in a never-ending loop. I tried inplace update with various win.iso, but it will not allow me to keep my apps.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Step 1. Download
67139f7e69a58-SFCFix-ico.PNG
SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

I created a new SFCFix.txt exactly as described. I appended the txt-file.
The RestoreHealth had been finished successfully. I appended the CBS nevertheless.
Updating Windows afterwards did not improve or change in any way.
I am still stuck with Win 10 Pro 20H2 build: 19042.630

Hi,

Follow these instructions to install an update with DISM.
  • Open the Start menu of Windows and type CMD.
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, select the option Run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste the following command into it, and press enter. (Leave the CMD window open!)
Code:
MD C:\WUTemp
  • Now, download the following update (KB4586781) to: C:\WUTemp - Or copy this file from the download directory to C:\WUTemp. (Important!)
    Downloadlink: KB4586781
  • Copy and paste the following commands one at a time into the command prompt and press enter after each.
Code:
CD C:\WUTemp
EXPAND.exe windows10.0-kb4586781-x64_bd543ce012ec1695201cdb2d324a2206bd445132.msu -f:* C:\WUTemp
DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\WUtemp\Windows10.0-KB4586781-x64_PSFX.cab
  • Let me know if it says it was successful or if there are any errors. Or take a screenshot of the command prompt window and paste it into your next reply.

Great, please attempt to update again. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs.

Yes, still failing, even after reboot.
Update screen also looks like before (screenshot above).
I appended the new CBS.

Please upload a new copy of the COMPONENTS hive. But don't rename it to *.txt, just ZIP the file and attach it.

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Here's the next fix.

Ok,
running SetupDiag, "setupdiagresults.xml" were created in
C:\Windows\Logs\SetupDiag - attached after zipping
Other files like "logs.zip" were not created.
So I made a zip from the "logs" directory myself - attached after zipping
Exported the SideBySide - attached after zipping

Let's take a closer look at this system with FRST, maybe these lines are just remnants of Comodo.

Download the
577bf0efb8088-FRST.png
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:

Download the 64 bit version: - Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Link
  • Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  • Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  • Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.
