My Cd Dvd RW stop responding to keyboard and program commands. Need help what should i look for? the computer does not recognize the player anymore any suggestions. Device manage describes it as Optiarc -DVD + -RW AD-7560s - ata device.
uninstalled drivers and installed. Nothings happening. i also used windows media center for Dvd play it does respond to that either. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated - sug. can be sent to <deleted> - not always online to see response. thanks.

If you don't own a USB external DVD player or burner, see if you can borrow one from a friend. If the external works, then it is a hardware issue. If the external doesn't work, then it is a software issue.

I purchased an external DVD burner years ago because most new computers started arriving without an optical drive. This allowed me to use DVDs on our two Win 7 laptops.
 
thanks for suggestions @plodr. to: nothing in the device manager tab shows any exclamation points.
Figured maybe a reboot would most likely help the hardware be recognized but cant find my disk. and was hoping there would be a link online to see if mostly the components needed where erased some how. I uploaded an app called audacity and or Wavepad and since then cd dvd has not worked at all.
