Help me Sysnative, you're my only hope!

I'm running win8.1 x64 media edition and I'm trying to install update 1.

The necessary updates don't show up in the Windows Update control panel... thing, so I downloaded the standalone msu installers from the MS website.

I made sure to get the x64 versions, but I have also tried with the x86 versions

The standalone installers don't give me an error code, and the only response I get is "The update is not applicable to your computer"

I've run the sfcfix.exe tool and was given this log:

SFCFix version 2.2.1.0 by niemiro.
Start time: 2014-04-22 13:58:07.300
Not using a script file.

and I'm not a a loss where to go next.

Any advice?

Hello Pedge, welcome to Sysnative!

I have to say, it's not looking hopeful with that error but let's not count our chickens. Can you do this to upload your logs and COMPONENTS hive here please?

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. [sfcfixdownload]Download SFCFix[/sfcfixdownload] (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the attached file, SFCFix.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.txt - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.txt.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Using .txt script file at C:\Users\Pedge\Downloads\SFCFix.txt

Hi Pedge,

Sorry to be a pain, but can you try it again please? It's come through as a failed upload.
